Annotation

The aim of the course is to introduce new technologies especialy in the area of the human cognitive enhancement, modern communication technologies, artificial intelligence and computer science. The core of the course is active engagement of students in projects covering a particular system of human enhancement including complex social and cultural reflexion of the impact of the system. Furthermore, the course offers practical demonstrations of selected technologies and consultations with experts.

Content: new technologies and conception of human being; transhumanism and its critics; human enhancement; cognitive, physical and moral human enhancement by technological means; artificial intelligence and human health; ambient intelligence; individual and social coexistence of human and machine; cyborgization of humanity; demonstrations of modern communication technologies

Requirements:

  • Credit - active work at seminars, presentation; written test in case of insufficient active attendance
  • Examination - seminar theses defense.

 

Syllabus

nové technologie a koncept člověka; transhumanismus a jeho opozice; problematika human enhancement; možnosti kognitivního, fyzického a morálního vylepšování člověka technologickými prostředky; umělá inteligence a lidské zdraví; ambient intelligence; individuální a společenské koeexistence člověka a stroje; kyborgizace člověka; demonstrace moderních komunikačních technologií



Requirements

  • Zápočet - aktivní práce na seminářích, odpřednášený referát na dané téma, při nedostatečné účasti zápočtový test z doporučené literatury.
  • Zkouška - obhajoba seminární práce.
